Do You Know What You Need to Know for a Successful Online Business?

Are you new to the whole internet marketing thing and wondering what tools you need to be successful?

Whatever your reason for wanting to learn how to make money on line, for extra money to help with bills or just to supplement your income or to replace income loss due to unemployment, there are things you need to know how to do to be successful.

There are skills and tools you should know in order to establish your business.  Yes, your business.  No matter what you decide to implement online, it is your business whether it is affiliate marketing or creating and promoting your own product.  It is YOUR business.

If you think of it as something you do on the side or part-time, that's how you will treat it.  Something you can set to the side and/or only do it part of the time.  This attitude will reap you NOTHING.  But if you consider it your business, something you want to succeed, then you will put more effort into it, be more consistent in making it work, be more creative and attentive to who your customers are or will be.

You will agree that when you run a business, you should know what to do to make it successful.  You should know what skills and tools are needed to help make your business grow.  Know the terminology, know the methods so that you can make informed decisions on what to promote, how to promote and even better know what to stay away from.

I'm a member of several marketing forums and I see alot of people who come to the forums not knowing the basic skills.  I can sympathize because a couple of years ago that was me.  Didn't have a clue where to start, what to do, how to do it.  I was a lamb waiting to be dressed and cooked.  I fell prey to every scam that promised to make me huge amounts of money for little effort or time, saying how easy it was, just put in my information.  Unfortunately, I didn't know what information they were talking about or what I had to do to put my information in to make the opportunity earn for me.

I'll share my own personal experience.   It was about two years ago and I wanted to earn some extra money.  I'd tried working a part-time job but the hours were too much for me, and I couldn't always get there on time because of the demands of my full-time job.  I needed something I could do that would allow me to be flexible with my hours.  Also, I needed something so I didn't have to worry about driving home late at night every night.  So something I could do from home would be ideal.

I was just starting out and really wasn't aware of the tools available or what skills I would need to even begin an online business opportunity.  I didn't know I needed anything.  So I purchased resell rights to a site that seemed to have alot of potential,  the sales campaign was enticing, at least to me.  Silly me.  It cost me $77. The website had all the bells and whistles, and all I had to do was put in my information and I would be on my way to instant income. Again, silly me, I thought this meant putting my name on it.

What I didn't know was what I needed to know to make it my business opportunity.   I would have to know how to use html editor to edit the website to put in my information; that I would need to know how to add my own payment processor, that I would need to get my own domain name, get a host for it, and how to add my site to all this. What????

I didn't know what half this stuff meant, and I had paid this guy $77. So I contacted him about it. What he told me basically, he had to learn this stuff on his own, so do what I could to learn it. Was I steaming? You bet. What did I do?  I googled, I youtubed,  and if  bing had been around, I'd have binged it to learn what I needed to learn.

Fortunately, I found someone who walked me through the html editor, I spent over an hour on the phone.  Bless the angel who helped me. After two weeks, of intense searching and reading, I finally got the site up.Two weeks to set up something he told me would only take an hour or so.  But that's because I didn't know what I needed to know.  You may have found yourself in the same situation.

But because I had to do it as I found the information or had the person available, I didn't have a chance to really absorb it and I had nothing really tangible to review, except my own fast notes which at that time were pretty bad. Something that this person claimed could be done in less than an hour, took me well over two weeks.

People should know what skills and tools they will need to make money online, starting with the basics.

For example, learn how to get a domain name, how to choose a domain name that's suitable for your business. You wouldn't want to pick a name for example, BunnySpace.com, and the business is about fly fishing.

Do you know how to create a website, how to get a domain name, how to get webhosting,  or how to get traffic to your site?  Then click here for more information, and much more.

Learn What You Need to Know

Stress Reduction KitImage by programwitch via Flickr

Are you new to the whole internet marketing thing and haven't a clue on how to use the tools?

Or have you been in for a bit, but you're still fuzzy on some of the terms, techniques or even how to make what you already have effective?

This is the site for you. Techy Stuff Explained. Stress reduction kit will no longer be needed.

One of my pet peeves is people not getting the information on the tools they will need to build an internet business. Alot of sites assume you know how to do certain things, not realizing that for many people this is their first attempt at building a business either marketing their own product or as an affiliate.

I'll share my personal experience. I was just starting out and really wasn't aware of the tools available or even how to use the tools when I did become aware of them. I purchased resell rights to a site that seemed to have alot of potential. It cost me $77. The seller stated in their sales campaign that all I had to do was put in my information and I would be on my way to instant income. I thought this meant putting my name on it. Don't laugh.

What he didn't tell me is I would have to know how to use html editor to edit the website to put in my information; that I would need to know how to add my own payment processor, that I would need to get my own domain name, get a host for it, and how to add my site to all this. What????

I didn't know what half this stuff meant, and I had paid this guy $77. So I contacted him about it. What he told me basically, he had to learn this stuff on his own, so do what you can to learn it. I was beyond hot. What did I do? I tried to learn it, I googled, I youtubed, I went to forums to see if I could find information.

I finally found someone who would walk me through the html editor, talked to me over the phone for over an hour to help me. After two weeks, of intense searching and reading, I finally got the site up.

But because I had to do it as I found the information or had the person available, I didn't have a chance to really absorb it and I had nothing really tangible to review, except my own fast notes which at that time were pretty bad. Something that this person claimed could be done in less than an hour, took me well over two weeks and I'm still not sure I didn't miss anything. It's up. But I'm still miffed.

Saying this, I believe people should know how to use the tools they will need to start an internet business, the basics and the advanced. You need to know what to do and how to do it.
